My affinity for not recording things professionally continues! As someone who worked in recording studios for 10 years, I have a great deal of respect for studio recordings. And I want to do more of it. But sometimes, in the days of polished recordings, you need some jagged edges, some raw life, some quick I-gotta-get-this-off-my-chest distorted vocals bc your computer can’t handle your vocal dynamics!

I wanted to get this song out there for all those who find themselves in the cross-hairs of empire for standing up for justice, peace, freedom and a livable future.

When fighting for human rights, for clean air, water, and food becomes illegal – shouldn’t we all be outlaws?

Lyrics below video.

I wait

So many hours, a battle of wills, I will

I stand

In their way, defend what you love, I raise

My fist

I didn’t want this, I wished for justice tho,

I know

Your hopes and prayers, your pleading stares

don’t do a damn thing

I don’t wanna be an outlaw

but you made me

I don’t wanna be an outlaw

but now I gotta be

Coz I won’t stand by

and watch your fascist homicides

I’ve drawn the line

coz now we’re running out of time…

Go with the flow say the folks selling boats by a pipeline

But it doesn’t seem right to toe the line when you’re drowning

And so,

I let my soul convince my mind what we all know

That when it’s a crime to fight for your rights and your lives

I don’t wanna be an outlaw

but you made me

I don’t wanna be an outlaw

but now I gotta be

Coz I won’t stand by

and watch your fascist homicides

I’ve drawn the line

coz now we’re running out of time…

I don’t wanna be an outlaw

but you made me

I don’t wanna be an outlaw

but now I gotta be

Coz I won’t stand by

and watch your fascist homicides

I’ve drawn the line

coz now we’re running out of time…

Are you gonna be an outlaw?
